HTA Group - Coventry

Location: Coventry, West Midlands
Reports to: General Manager

As part of the HTA Finance Team, to support the Financial Controller and provide a general Finance and Admin resource in the department. It is envisaged that the job holder will have prior experience of working within a Finance department but will be at an early stage in their professional development. The role will include a requirement to complete formal AAT or similar training.


Overview of duties/responsibilities:
  • Provide a general Finance and Admin resource to the business, working as part of a small team
  • Report to and support the HTA Financial Controller locally, as directed/required
  • Basic ledger work related to Sales & Purchase Ledgers
  • Assist with Supplier payment runs
  • Basic Bank Reconciliation work
  • Basic General Ledger journal entries
  • Administer and control Petty Cash, including processing through General Ledger
  • Collate direct wages data weekly for submission to HO payroll department, in line with deadlines
  • Various analysis work
  • Assist with incoming and outgoing post duties
  • Ad-hoc duties as required

Generally to provide a flexible resource across the Finance department and to develop over time to assume specific responsibilities within the team.
Company will support development through formal training to AAT or similar level.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated HR Officer, who wishes to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding engineering firm.


Responsibilities
  • Administering Employee Time & Attendance System including dealing with starters and leavers, creating and changing rosters and clearing queries.
  • Handling company inductions for starts and exit interviews for leavers
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues and / or other employees matters
  • HR Administration to include updating Organisation charts, Training matrices and other information logs.
  • Liaising with a range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety
  • Managing company workwear including the ordering and distribution of safety boots/shoes
  • Head Count Reporting every week/month
  • Temporary employees time sheets
  • Developing and implementing policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management
  • Create training and development programs.
  • Experienced in running payroll for employees, currently 170, whilst not a primary function, experience in this area would be advantages to allow for holiday cover
  • Knowledge of running Company Pension scheme including dealing with auto enrolment, starters, leavers, deductions and communication to scheme members, yet again, whilst not a primary function, experience in this area would be advantages to allow for holiday cover
  • Other tasks as necessary to run the HR section
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
  • Experience of working with Epicor ERP/MRP software would be advantageous.
  • Have proven relevant experience in an employee facing HR role
  • Have and be able to demonstrate sound understanding of most HR disciplines including employee relations, reward and benefits, HR reporting, HR systems, learning and development and recruitment.
  • BSc/BA in business administration, social studies or relevant field.
  • HR Credentials (e.g. PHR from the HR Certification Institute.
  • Be able to demonstrate effective coaching, consultation, communication and negotiation skills across all key relationships and be able to build effective working relationships.
  • Pragmatic approach with experience of working with complex problems / 'grey' situations.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), and a time and attendance system.
  • Be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge and understanding of key HR theories and HR best practice.
  • Understand and be aware of current and forthcoming employment legislation changes and be aware of the implications for the Group.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and to work to tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to step in to assist with all areas as required.
  • Driving license and own vehicle due to travelling to other local sites.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for assisting in the day to day running of HTA Group, specifically production and will report directly into the company‘s General manager. Your duties will include:-

  • Day to day assistant leadership of the business, being accountable for creating a culture of high achievement and performance, with the ability to meet and surpass the demands of a dynamic and competitive market
  • Assistant responsibility for 130+ strong workforce including training, support, progression, disciplinary action and recruitment needs
  • Maximising customer satisfaction throughout all operations of the business

Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience at Senior Management level within an engineering environment, predominantly within Laser Cutting /Sheet Metal Fabrication

  • Planning and organising production schedules and overseeing production schedules

  • Load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment
