HTA Purchases new ERP Software
To further support HTA's growth plans, 2010 will see the implementation of Epicor 9 which is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software solution.
This ERP software will ultimately replace four separate software packages currently in use including Planit Software's e2i which has become the standard for sheet metalworking companies in the UK.
When asked about his decision to break away from the industry standard e2i software, Adam Thomas, Managing Director said: "The message to our customers is that we employ state of the art manufacturing technology, this does not just apply to machines but throughout our IT systems as well.
"e2i has served us very well however it is lacking some features that are vital to our business including CRM, Advanced Production Scheduling, Quality Management, MRP, and Integrated Financials. Like many companies we have purchased or designed additional software to manage these other areas however integrating all this software into one will be much more efficient"
"As our business grows, and our customers become more demanding, we must automate as many processes as possible to continue to be efficient therefore following the successful introduction of Shop Floor Data Capture, we will now be implementing automated on screen 'work to' lists. We will also be using the software for capacity planning which will mean much more accurate delivery promises, and better planning means less overtime, better machine utilisation and that means lower unit costs."
HTA have chosen Aspera Solutions as their implementation partner for Epicor 9.
