HTA Group - Engineering Apprenticeships

Location: Coventry
Pay: £13.50 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Following technical drawings to assembly large parts/components
  • Efficient unloading, handling and storage of internal material, including steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc. to appropriate holding area
  • Labelling and marking of parts and materials
  • Use of hand and power tools
  • Printing order sheets and sourcing the correct parts
  • To work as part of a team to produce customers’ orders on time by strictly adhering to the production schedule
  • To follow work instructions and Company / Customer expectations in terms of documentation and quality requirements
  • To ensure correct marking up of component parts
Skills and Experience Required
  • Previous proven experience in a similar Labourer role working in an industrial / manufacturing environment is essential
  • Hard working and conscientious attitude
  • Ability to work on own initiative and without constant supervision
  • Reliable and enthusiastic
  • Reliable and flexible approach to working hours including overtime
  • Numeracy and literacy skills

Pay:Up to £20 per hour + £100 per week attendance allowance
Hours of work:Monday - Thursday 6pm to 6am

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings to fabricate and weld components
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding and plating tasks to a high standard
  • Maintain tight tolerances and meet output and quality standards
  • Work efficiently to meet or exceed production targets
  • Adhere to company procedures and health and safety regulations at all times
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure orders are completed on time and to customer specifications
  • Conduct and record regular equipment maintenance and safety checks
  • Accurately mark up component parts as required
Requirements
  • Proven experience in welding and fabrication
  • Coded to BS EN ISO9606-1 (fillet and butt weld)
  • Strong MIG and TIG welding skills and ability to read complex engineering drawings
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety practices in an engineering environment

Department Laser Department Salary:£13.50 (plus £50 per week shift allowance)
Hours of work:Monday-Thursday (2pm-10pm) and Friday (2pm-8pm)

Knowledge, Skills, Experience
  • Previous experience operating Lasers would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Excellent attendance and timekeeping essential.
  • Counterbalance FLT licence is beneficial.
  • Able to set and maintain a high standard of workmanship.
  • Able to work pro-actively to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Work overtime when necessary.

  • Proven engineering and fabrication knowledge/experience/background
  • Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise closely with customers
  • Ability to work under pressure, both on own initiative and as part of a busy team
  • Ability to handle multiple varied projects from order through to completion Responsible, conscientious, punctual, highly organized, and self-motivated
  • Excellent knowledge of all welding techniques
  • CAD qualifications and experience are preferable but not essential for this role, training will be provided where necessary
