Responsibilities
As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of HTA Group, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Your core duties will include:- Providing strategic and operational leadership, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
- Managing a workforce of over 100 employees, including oversight of recruitment, training and development, performance management, succession planning, and disciplinary procedures.
- Ensuring exceptional levels of customer satisfaction across all areas of the business through the delivery of high-quality service and operational excellence.
- Controlling operational budgets, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring all business and profitability targets are consistently achieved.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements to drive operational efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
- Overseeing all departmental functions to ensure alignment with company objectives and that performance targets are met or exceeded across the board.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Extensive senior management experience within an engineering environment, ideally with a strong background in sheet metal, fabrication and laser cutting operations.
- A demonstrable track record of driving business growth and delivering sustained profitability, with a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
- In-depth understanding of management profit and loss accounts, with the ability to make data-driven decisions that enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, combined with a collaborative leadership style and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers, creating a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
- Energetic, confident, and hands-on leadership approach, with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to inspire those around you.

- Strong experience in an engineering/fabrication environment
- Good understanding of Laser, fabrication and welding processes
- Knowledge of health & safety requirements

Hours of Work: 7.30am – 4pm (3pm Friday finish)
This is a fantastic opportunity offering an excellent salary package for a motivated and driven Production Welder based at HTA Group in Coventry, looking to progress within a dynamic and rapidly expanding engineering firm.
Privately owned for over 40 years, and now one of the UK’s leading & multi award winning Engineering companies, WEC is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Welder to join our busy and expanding team at HTA Group in Coventry, part of the WEC Group.
Responsibilities
- Ability to read, understand and interpret the engineering drawings
- Accurately record all job bookings
- Complete welding operations within allocated time
- Improve processes
- Visual inspection of components to ensure that it meet the requirements
- Undertake first off inspections where required
- Undertake welder coding test as and if required
- Ensure compliance to Health and safety standards as directed by the Company
- Any other duties that may fit into the remit of this role as and when required

Skills and Experience Required
- Self-motivated and focused
- Relevant NVQ or welding equivalent Qualifications
- Reliable and enthusiastic
- Able to work to deadlines efficiently and accurately
- Able to follow instructions carefully and precisely
- Ability to carry out basic Maths including additions, subtractions, multiplications and division
- Good understanding of English

- Proven engineering and fabrication knowledge/experience/background
- Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise closely with customers
- Ability to work under pressure, both on own initiative and as part of a busy team
- Ability to handle multiple varied projects from order through to completion Responsible, conscientious, punctual, highly organized, and self-motivated
- Excellent knowledge of all welding techniques
- CAD qualifications and experience are preferable but not essential for this role, training will be provided where necessary
